Important things to remember

Keep these key points in mind when managing your payment methods:

✓ Best Practices

  • Add before removing: Always add and verify your new card before removing the old one to avoid service interruption.
  • Sufficient credit limit: Ensure your new card can handle monthly charges plus the security deposit amount.
  • Update before expiry: Change cards at least one week before the expiration date to avoid failed payments.
  • Keep information current: Update billing address and contact details when they change.

⚠ What to Avoid

  • Don't remove your only card: Always have at least one valid payment method on file.
  • Don't wait until cards expire: Expired cards cause immediate payment failures and service issues.
  • Don't ignore failed payments: Update your payment method immediately when payments fail.

Common issues and solutions

Here's how to resolve common problems when managing payment methods:

Cannot add new card

  • Check card details: Verify card number, expiry date, and CVV are correct
  • Billing address match: Ensure address matches what's on file with your bank
  • Card restrictions: Some cards may not support international or online transactions
  • App issues: Try restarting the app or updating to the latest version

Cannot remove old card

  • Active payment method: Cannot remove card if it's your only payment method
  • Pending charges: Wait for any pending transactions to complete
  • Outstanding balance: Resolve any unpaid amounts first
  • Default card: Set another card as default before removing current one

Card verification failed

  • Bank authorization: Contact your bank to authorize the verification charge
  • International blocking: Enable international transactions on your card
  • Fraud prevention: Bank may have blocked the transaction for security
  • Insufficient funds: Ensure card has available credit for verification
